This is a new 350 square metre house, located in a residential housing estate. Prescriptive guidelines were reinterpreted into a residence which fulfils all the design requirements, but at the same time clearly distinguishes itself from the surrounding architecture.
The concept for the house was ‘single-room architecture’, whereby each of the main accommodation areas is treated as a separate building with its own pitched roof, linked by means of flat roofs around a central courtyard.
The result is a building of reduced scale, good proportions, and refined simplicity.
