This is a 450 square meter house in Hanging Meadows Estate and commands majestic views over Hout Bay. The architectural concept is dictated by estate guidelines, which promote a more traditional type of design with prescriptive pitch roofs.
The house is designed over three levels. The first floor level comprises an open plan living area that opens onto a landscaped roof terrace and an undercover entertainment area with a glass rim pool. The second floor has four bedrooms, that open onto a continuous balcony. The pitch roof has been arranged so has to created vaulted ceilings with a central flat roof section behind for services.
These guidelines were carefully interpreted in order to still achieve a contemporary design.
